Privacy Policy

Movie of the Day ("the site", "we", "us") is operated by @c0devengers. This page explains what data the site handles and why.
What we don't collect
There's no login. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the site, and we don't store passwords because there aren't any.
What we do collect
- The Instagram handle you type when you place a bid, and the movie, date, and amount you bid — all of this is shown publicly on the leaderboard and archive, indefinitely, and the handle is linked to instagram.com/<handle>. Only enter your own handle.
- Movie details you submit — title, poster URL, IMDb link, genre — when adding a new title.
- Payment confirmation data — the amount and a payment/session ID from Dodo Payments, so we know a bid was actually paid. We never receive or store your card number or other payment instrument details; Dodo Payments handles that directly and has its own privacy policy.
- A lifetime pageview count — a single running total of page loads (not tied to you individually, not deduplicated per visitor), shown on the homepage as "visitors". We also show a live count of browsers currently connected ("online") via a real-time presence channel — this exists only in memory while you're on the site and isn't stored anywhere.
- Standard server logs from our hosting (Vercel) and database (Supabase) providers — things like IP address and request timing, kept for security and debugging.
Local storage, not cookies
The site remembers the last handle you typed using your browser's local storage, purely so it can pre-fill the field and label your own bids "· you" on your device. This never leaves your browser as tracking data and isn't sent to us — clearing your browser storage clears it.
Who we share data with
Dodo Payments processes all payments and handles your payment details directly. Supabase hosts our database. Vercel hosts the site. We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.
Your rights
Since bids are public by design (that's the leaderboard), we can't make an individual bid entry private without removing it entirely. Email work.codevengers@gmail.com to ask about a specific entry or any other privacy question.
Age
The site isn't intended for anyone under 18 — bidding involves real payments.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes; the "last updated" date above will change too.
